Such sadness to hear that Ralph Waite passed away. He will be greatly missed.

"Everyone at NCIS is deeply saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague Ralph Waite. Ralph was family to us, a tremendous talent and a very special man. We truly cherish the time we had with him. Our hearts and prayers go out to his loved ones." - The Cast & Crew of NCIS

Sad to hear that Charles Durning, who starred in the "Call Of Silence" NCIS episode passed away, along with Jack Klugman of "The Odd Couple" and "Quincy" fame. Both wonderful actors.

Although my state is still too close to call, it won't make any difference.

YAY OBAMA! I'm thrilled he won! I can't wait until January when he gets sworn in!

'Star Trek' star George Takei to marry partner

WEST HOLLYWOOD, Calif. (AP) — "Star Trek" star George Takei is ready to "live long and prosper" with his partner of 21 years. Takei will marry 54-year-old Brad Altman on September 14th in Los Angeles.

The 71-year-old actor, known for his role as Sulu on the "Star Trek" sci-fi TV series, was the first to pay $70 for a marriage license in West Hollywood early Tuesday. The marriage license is good for 90 days.

Takei was jubilant, saying "it's going to be the only day like this in our lives and it is the only day like this in the history of America."

He told reporters and a swelling crowd outside the West Hollywood city auditorium "may equality live long and prosper."

The California Supreme Court has legalized same-sex marriage.

I've heard reports that a formal wedding is scheduled for September with former Star Trek co-stars Walter Koenig (Chekov) & Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) serving as Best Man & Maid Of Honor. It's cool that the Trekers are still all such close friends!

Jamie Lynn Spears 3 months pregnant and only 16 years old *rolls eyes*. The father is her boyfriend Casey Aldridge, who she's "known for years" and has been "dating since high school". Oh yeah, she's going to raise it in Louisiana so it can have a "normal" childhood (what, just like her & Brit? LOL). Poor kid doesn't have a chance!

Wow! Ben Ownby (missing since Monday) & Shawn Hornbeck (missing since Oct 2002) have both been found alive in the same apartment, thanks to tips & information from the public. It all reminds me a little of the I Know My Name Is Steven movie. I can see their story being made into a movie at some point. The news stations are already referring to this as the Missouri Miracle. I'm just thrilled the boys have been found alive and are now reunited with their families.
