jacieleigh: (NCIS Final hug By Solariana)

New icon because some of us could really use a good Gibbs/DiNozzo hug right about now!

Like you said, the whole episode should have been about the hug. And some kissing and making out, of course. ;)

The hug was the only good thing about that craptastic episode!

Yep, I could have used a much longer basement scene and a really long, meaningful chat between the two...followed by a lot of hugging, kissing and maybe even a little getting naked and rolling around on the floor.

So disappointed in the episode. Also very disappointed in GG telling people to go watch it again, as if we're too *stupid* to watch it right and *get* what they were doing. I get it. I just don't like it. I don't find it plausible at all that Tony, whose biggest fear is kids, is suddenly turned into super!dad in one second. I can imagine it's very difficult to travel with a toddler, especially one you just met, and aren't quite up to snuff on parental experience and knowledge. And why isn't this kid crying and throwing fits about where's mommy? My niece threw all sorts of screaming crying fits when her mom left her (with her dad and brother, so not even strangers) just to go to dinner with a friend. Niece did not understand why mommy would go away, even for a shot time, and not be with her.

I think the writers got this wrong on a lot of levels.

Oh. that would have been a MUCH nicer episode! *thinks happy Tibbs thoughts*

Really? GG said that? I have to admit, I've been purposely avoiding any news stories about the show since that episode aired. I know they would only poss me off. So from his comment, I take it the overall reaction to the episode was negative? (Not just from die hard Tony lovers like us?)

And yes, it made NO sense! Someone like Tony would never take to a kid that easily! His fear of and awkwardness around children was well established on the show! And being a parent of three myself, I can say with authority that travelling with kids is NOT easy! It's challenging for me, and I'm used to it. But Tony had just had parenthood thrust upon him. That would take some adjustment. He would likely be going insane from it.

And you're right. The kid would have been screaming for mommy. Especially since she supposedly had just survived a fire (she sure didn't look like she'd been in a fire), was taken to another country and suddenly around all these people. For a kid that age, it would be pretty scary.

Oh, and don't get me started on how, after Tony said his final goodbyes and left, Gibbs just stood looking on fondly at his "new" team. As if he was eager to move on now that Tony was gone. Almost happy about the changes, with no real grieving the loss of the man who had been working with him for 16 years.

Nothing about the episode made any kind of sense. And apart from the hug, everything about it was terrible!

I just emailed it to you...where GG says fans should watch it again and "pay attention". Apparently we should all be happy that Tony is now at peace.

Really? With a 2 yo around? What peace?

And exactly! He doesn't need to be globetrotting around the world with a 2 yo right now. His parenting skills shouldn't be there, except by the magic of television and assumption that we fans have totally forgotten that kids are one of Tony's greatest fears, that he should be awkward and hesitant around this kid, not instant super dad. I really think TPTB at NCIS need to go watch their own show and pay attention to the backgrounds they have created for their characters - including Tony's inexperience and fear of kids!

I do get that he would go to Tel Aviv. Eli probably left a huge fortune to Ziva, which will now go to Tali. Tony may need a little cash for him and Tali to live on!

Thanks. I just emailed my reply. The guy really is unbelievable...

And Tony's fear of kids was well established! It wasn't just a passing comment. It had been addressed on more than one occasion. It was a part of his character.

Also, if Tony was pretty sure Ziva wasn't coming back, why would they have a cheap fling like that? Also, a man of his age and experience would know to use protection. Tony's not an idiot!

Ugh! Trying to make sense of this craptastic episode is giving me a headache...

And there's just no way he's going to go from afraid of kids to superdad in an instant. He should be awkward and uncomfortable. But know, in GG's fantasy world everything is rainbows and unicorns.

I was talking a few year ago about the Tony/Ziva and I said I just did not see them as a couple at all. She said she didn't see them as a LT couple, but she could believe a one night stand. I think Ziva liked to tease Tony, but didn't think he was her type at all. And I don't think Ziva was his type. I don't think they'd even be friends, except that they're co-workers and spend so much time together.

Of course Tony would have used a condom. Look at how many partners Ziva had over the years! Ziva obviously pulled the condom out of the trash, LOL. Yeah, this episode was major failure. It's a shame they spent so much time and this was the best they could do.

Nothing about Tony and Ziva as a couple makes sense. No matter how I try and twist my thinking, it just doesn't work. The other day, my mom said that the kid was "a nice reminder that they share this special connection." I kind of lost it then and said "What connection? She barely acted like she could stand him. She treated him with such contempt, and yet we would force fed this line that they were in love?" Sometimes her behavior towards him bordered on outright cruelty. Hardly an example of a healthy "relationship".

The episode defies all logic and common sense. And you know what? I'm not even counting it as part of canon. The show officially ended for me a few episodes ago, and I'll make up my own ending for Tony.

I never got the Tiva either. Ziva was not nice to him and they just weren't the right types for the other one. I believe she loved Ray, until he killed an innocent person and ruined the husbands life. And Tony had feelings for Jeanne.

I'm sticking with the ending I wrote with "You Don't Waste Good". Tony and Gibbs have made peace with each other and Tony has gone off to lead a different team.

I do not plan on ever mentioning this kid in my fic. Oh yeah, she was cute - but just did not fit into the story line in a plausible way. And now she's like an anchor forever chained to Tony. So yeah, I'll stop following their cannon before this kid showed up. I'm treating that episode and story line as someone bad fanfic.

Yes, Ziva I think had real feelings for Ray, and Tony for Jeanne. Too bad it seems Jeanne kind of hates him now. He really didn't deserve that.

I'll eventually write my ending, too. I'm just trying to decided which point in the show's narrative I'm going to change things. It may be well before this season.

Did you write "ziva david is not my lover"? Or am i confused that it's the same story but different title?

Hi!

Two different stories, both written by me.

I wrote and posted You Don't Waste Good on May 5. It's about 1000 words with Tony visiting Gibbs in his basement.

The above comment was from May 21. On May 23, I wrote and posted Ziva David Is Not My Lover. I had no intention of writing anything with the kid, but that one suddenly came to me one afternoon and was posted later that night. I thought it was a good way to explain how Ziva could have had his kid even if they never slept together. And gave Tali a nice home with the Palmers.

I really don't plan on writing any more fic referencing Tali, but you never know. If something hits me, maybe. Not likely though. I prefer my Tony single and childless.

Ah, The Hug! Best part of the episode.
There was the episode where Chaplain Burke took tony to the daycare center to face his fear of kids, especially toddlers in seaaon nine Engaged part two. Then I think after that there was the episode where Tim couldn't figure oit who stole his credit card and Tony found the landlady's son and brought him to ncis. They were best buds and he took him to gamestop. I know he didn't get along with zach tanner in season three because he as zach said tried too hard. I think his original fear of kids comes from the fact there were no other kids his own age to play with at the time. He might habe been home schooled before boarding school.
The rest of the finale was craptastic! Cool icon. :D

Yep, the hug was definitely the best thing out of that episode!

Apparently the writers forgot that kids were one of Tony's greatest fears. Or that traveling with a 2 yo can be very stressful and problematic. Or even that a child raised by her mother, who suddenly lost her mother and was suddenly whisked away from her home to another country, would likely be crying, miserable and asking where their mom is. Lots of failures in this episode.

At some point I'm going to write all the scenes that we didn't see in the show, with Gibbs comforting Tony, and Tony admitting he was drunk and had a weak moment with Ziva, and he sure used a condom!
Love the icon!

I expect a lot of fanfic to come out with better versions. I like my version of Tony leaving much more than the one in the series. I'm going with my story.

As many partners as Ziva has had, a condom would have been a wise choice. Maybe she dug it out of the trash can after, LOL.

Thanks! I love the pic. I'm glad we have a good solid hug between them.

Aw the hug... Only good thing about that episode. I know we've talked about it so I won't repeat myself. But the hug was good. Wish they would have given us more of that personal touch. 16 years and all we get is a hug? Sigh...

Loved the hug, but not much else about the finale.

I saw someone brought up the possibility that Ziva could have gotten her hands on Tony's donation to the sperm bank from this college days. That made me laugh!

I generally am not one to write the main characters as evil or do character bashing, but I am definitely considering exploring that angle...too funny! LOL

Works with the Mossad spy angle, if she needs another way to ensure she remains tied to NCIS and can stay in America.

oh you so should write this! and the reason why Tali (the child) survived is because she wasn't even there. doesn't even live with ziva. being raised by Orli to be Mossad, but ziva dying made it some kind of opportunity for Mossad? i don't know. :D

LOL. well it would certainly make sense as to why the kid never cried for her mother. she only knows her as the woman in the picture. just like she knew her father as the man in the picture. she's been shipped around and raised by strangers all her life so she's not attached to anyone! hence how smiley she is. for the first time, someone actually loves her. oh dear. now i feel bad for this poor kid.
